Educational Programs

Working and playing with drums and percussion instruments brings everyone involved together through a beat and rhythm. Therefore there are no boundaries set whatsoever as in what field of education drums can be used.

For 25 years (including the time before Drum Dance Ireland was founded) I have worked:

  • In national & secondary schools
  • Doing team building in the corporate sector
  • In institutions with people with various disabilities
  • In pre-schools
  • In nursing homes & other residential facilities
  • Running networking events
  • With youth clubs, sports clubs, scouting & guiding
  • and other groups and formations of people seeking a musical alternative for educational reasons.

Drums are ancient instruments with big energy that have been used throughout human history. They are the ultimate tool for empowerment!
At Drum Dance Ireland we make a learning experience possible through facilitating specific games and activities that are fun and enhance

  • Team Work
  • Self Expression
  • Confidence
  • Creativity
  • Camaraderie
  • Focus and Respect
  • Listening, sharing and concentration skills
‘We had the most wonderful day with Urs and his amazing collection of African drums.  Urs truly has a mesmerising energy that he uses to engage and wow every single child.  It will be a day we will be talking about for a long time to come and we’re already looking forward to having Urs back again.’
Yvonne O’Meara – St Patrick’s Boys NS, Limerick City

‘Urs has a fantastic approach to teaching music while developing groupwork skills such as listening and co-operation. He had our TY students stimulated and smiling for the entire 2 hour session he held. I highly recommend Urs to any educational institution.’
Helen Hayes – Teacher & TY activity coordinator, CBS Tralee
