DRUM AND DANCE – AT THE SAME TIME!

Our Drum Dance Shows are interactive and totally unique to Ireland (as they probably are to the world…!).

Play drums and dance along to some of your favourite tunes!

We keep the dance choreography very simple intentionally to give every participant a chance to follow our dance instructor.  This also allows everybody to concentrate fully on hitting the drums at the same time as anyone else which creates an enormous sense of empowerment.

For these shows we use our special Fitness Drums and for bigger events additional congas, bass drums on stands as well as our custom made barrel drums.

Drums and sets of drum sticks are available for a group of up to 22 participants with Fitness drums and up to 50 participants for large size events including other drums.
After having performed this fun fitness show numerous times at festivals and other events but also in schools and other instituitions we can safely say this activity is hugely popular with all ages and levels of fitness.

Drum Dance facilitator is Katrina Galvin.
Katrina owns a first class BA Honours in Voice and Dance from the Irish World Academy, completed her CBTS from Royal Academy of Dance and trained in Trinity Laban in London. She owns Sparrow Academy which runs dance classes in Kerry.
She was recently given the ‘Rising Star’ Award at the Connect Kerry Business Awards and has performed in countless big stage productions.
Most importantly, Katrina brings her fabulous and infectious energy to the stage and will no doubt have everybody taking part in ‘Drum Dance’ sharing a great time with her.

‘We came along with our 2 children (7&10) to try Drum Dance as we were told by someone from the festival organisation that this was for everybody and wouldn’t require any previous experience in drumming or dancing and that you could also enjoy it even if you weren’t exactly very fit. Well… we had such a great time and a laugh with everybody else participating! The music choice was just bang on – a great mix between old and new hits – and we just found this so much fun but also quite a powerful experience.’
